Weather + terrain
- Published good direction range is SW toward WSW (225–240°), with the best band at SW (225–235°).
- Published minimum 5 mph; HG ideal 10 mph, PG ideal 8 mph; maximum 16 mph; gust allowance 5 mph.
- Vertical rock face below the slot can produce turbulence.
- A temporary LZ wind indicator is recommended.
Access + stewardship
- Current RAF and USHPA membership required.
- All new-to-site pilots require a briefing.
- Use the landowner driveway slowly; remain on pavement to the turnaround and cross grass only if it will not be damaged.
- Landowner chairs, picnic table and fire pit are not pilot facilities; leave no belongings or trash.
Hazards
- Shallow launch and trees at the bottom of the slot.
- Rock-face turbulence and inadequate airflow below the published minimum.
- LZ approach options and current wind must be walked before flight.
